KTM is reportedly developing a new 500cc twin-cylinder platform for adventure and naked bikes. A faired RC model has also been seen undergoing testing, sparking speculation about its engine. Images released by Motorrad magazine suggest the RC is nearing production. The engine is believed to originate from CFMoto, with the primary chassis also potentially sourced from the same manufacturer. The exhaust downpipes resemble those on CFMoto models. This could indicate the model will be called the KTM RC 490. Given the current RC 390 uses an older engine, KTM may be looking for a new engine for the next-generation RC.
