Renault has launched the 10th Anniversary Edition of the Kwid in India. The Renault Kwid, first launched in 2015, is a small car with SUV-like styling. The Managing Director of Renault India, Venkatram Mamillapalle, stated that the Kwid played a significant role in shaping Renault’s journey in India, and this Anniversary Edition showcases the company’s innovation and commitment to affordable cars.
The new edition features several visual changes, although its specifications remain the same as the regular model, meaning no engine changes. Along with this, Renault has also revamped all variants of the Kwid and their prices.
Features and Price
This edition is limited to only 500 units and is based on the Techno variant. It incorporates over 10 exclusive changes. The manual gearbox version is priced at ₹5.14 lakh, and the AMT version is priced at ₹5.63 lakh (ex-showroom, all India). This edition is designed to stand out in the crowded small car segment.
India’s Most Affordable Dual-Tone Car
It offers two dual-tone color options: Fiery Red with Black Roof and Shadow Grey with Black Roof. It also features black flex wheels, new decals on the doors and C-pillar, and yellow grill inserts. Renault claims that it is currently the most affordable dual-tone car available in India.
Interior
The interior cabin also features a special Anniversary theme, including seats with yellow accents, a leatherette steering wheel with mustard stitching, and seats with an Anniversary pattern. Premium finishing is provided around the infotainment system and on door trims. Additionally, illuminated scuff plates and puddle lamps add to the premium feel.
Renault Kwid’s New Variants
Apart from the Anniversary Edition, Renault has also updated the entire Kwid range. The variants now have new names: Evolution (formerly RXL), Techno (formerly RXT), and Climber. 3-point seatbelts are provided for all passengers, while the Climber variant now comes with 6 airbags, a first in this segment.
New Prices
According to the new prices, the Kwid now starts at ₹4.29 lakh for the base Authentic MT. The cheapest AMT version is priced at ₹4.99 lakh. The Techno variant is available at ₹4.99 lakh (MT) and ₹5.48 lakh (AMT). The top model, Climber AMT dual-tone, is priced at ₹5.99 lakh. Thus, the entire range is kept below ₹6 lakh.
