Mahindra unveiled the Vision S concept on Independence Day, sparking anticipation. The new SUV concept is expected to join the Mahindra Scorpio family, alongside the Scorpio N and the Classic Scorpio. The Vision S concept was presented with other concepts like X, T, and SXT.
The Vision S presents a unique design compared to other current Mahindra models. The front fascia features LED headlights, an LED-integrated grille, and the signature twin peaks logo. The bumper includes a radar unit and parking sensors. The SUV also boasts roof-mounted lights and pixel-shaped fog lamps.
For off-road capabilities, the Vision S features thick cladding along the doors and wheel arches. It rides on 19-inch wheels with star-shaped rims and utilizes side-mounted cameras instead of conventional ORVMs. The rear showcases inverted tail lamps, a reflector unit similar to the Bolero Neo, and a tailgate-mounted spare wheel with Vision S branding.
Inside, the Vision S incorporates a fresh layout, featuring a new steering wheel with VISION S lettering, a fully digital driver’s display with updated graphics, and an infotainment screen expected to run Mahindra’s new NU UX system, offering wireless smartphone connectivity. Dual-tone upholstery, redesigned door trims, premium seats, and a panoramic sunroof add to the cabin’s appeal. Grab handles are strategically placed for easy entry and exit.
The Vision S, like the Vision T, SXT, and X concepts, is built on Mahindra’s NU-IQ platform. This monocoque platform can accommodate SUVs between 3,990 mm and 4,320 mm in length and supports petrol, diesel, hybrid, and electric powertrains, with both front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive options. An ICE version is likely, potentially with a 1.2-litre turbo petrol or a 1.5-litre diesel engine, alongside features like variable-ratio steering.
