Maruti Suzuki has launched a new SUV, the Victoris, to rival the Hyundai Creta in the market. The SUV was unveiled a few days ago. Notably, this is Maruti’s first car to feature Level-2 ADAS. It will be exported to other countries worldwide from India.
Regarding specifications, the Victoris, like the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, offers three powertrain options. It includes a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine, paired with a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. Some variants also have a four-wheel drive option with the petrol engine. A CNG variant also runs on this engine, but it does not have an automatic gearbox.
Notably, the Victoris features an underbody CNG tank, providing the CNG variant with the same boot space as the petrol variant. The strong hybrid engine, taken from the Grand Vitara, now comes with locally assembled lithium-ion batteries. In terms of power output, the petrol engine delivers 101 bhp of power and 137 Nm of torque, while the CNG option produces 87 bhp and 121 Nm of torque. The strong hybrid powertrain generates 91 bhp of power and 122 Nm of torque.
In terms of design, the Victoris has a sporty exterior. It features a vertical hood, angular LED headlamps, and a chrome strip at the front. The SUV has dual-tone 17-inch alloy wheels and is available in 10 colors, including two new colors, Eternal Blue and Mystic Green. At the rear, it has full-width LED taillamps and a gesture-controlled powered tailgate. The taillight design resembles the Maruti Swift but has a more stylish 3D effect.
Inside, the Victoris is available in two interior trim levels. Its dashboard is designed in a layered style and features 64-color ambient lighting. The car has a 10.25-inch digital driver display and a touchscreen infotainment system, which includes Alexa and over 35 pre-loaded apps. This system comes with over-the-air updates and offers over 60 features through Suzuki Connect. In addition, it also has features such as a dual-pane sunroof, a PM 2.5 air filter, an 8-speaker surround Infinity sound system with Dolby Atmos, and an 8-way powered and ventilated seat for the driver.
In terms of safety, the Victoris has received a 5-star rating from both Bharat NCAP and Global NCAP. It comes standard with features like 6 airbags, electronic stability control, and seat belt reminders. In addition, it also offers advanced safety technologies such as a heads-up display, a 360-degree camera, and Level-2 ADAS, which has been tuned specifically for Indian roads.
