Mercedes-Benz has announced a widespread recall affecting its EQS Sedan, GLS, AMG SL55, and S-Class models due to a potential fire hazard. This marks the sixth voluntary recall initiated by the luxury car manufacturer this year. According to reports, a potential risk of spontaneous fire accidents exists in up to 30 vehicles, as indicated by SIAM. The recall stems from concerns regarding improperly rewired fuse boxes, which could lead to system failures and sudden loss of propulsion. This could also impact the instrument cluster, increasing the risk of crashes and injuries. Consequently, the possibility of a thermal incident within the vehicle cannot be ruled out. Affected models include 16 EQS sedans, 9 S-Class vehicles (including Maybach models), 3 GLCs, and 2 AMG SLs. Mercedes-Benz will be contacting owners of affected vehicles to schedule complimentary repair appointments.
