Nissan is gearing up to launch a new car in the Indian market. The company recently released a teaser video hinting at the arrival of an upcoming model. The teaser video features a scenic view of a place designed for observing the night sky and galaxies, set 4,500 meters above sea level. The video includes the text, “Now see something more,” followed by “Stay tuned.” While the automaker has not disclosed the name or specific details of the product, it is expected to be a 7-seater car similar to the Renault Triber. Nissan had previously confirmed the launch of a new compact MPV in India, which will share the platform, features, and engine with the Triber. Renault recently launched the 2025 Renault Triber with significant feature upgrades and minor design changes. Nissan may share more information about its upcoming model in the coming weeks. The new sub-compact MPV from Nissan was initially teased along with a new mid-size SUV, which will be based on the third-generation Renault Duster. The official teaser revealed the front of the MPV, featuring Nissan’s signature grille, a sporty bumper with silver wrap-around treatment, new LED DRLs, functional roof rails, and newly designed alloy wheels. Although this 7-seater family car will look different from the Triber, both models are expected to be similar in size. The Renault MPV has a length of 3,990 mm, a width of 1,739 mm, and a height of 1,643 mm. The new 7-seater car from Nissan will have the same powertrain as the Renault Triber. The Triber is powered by a 1.0-liter, 3-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine that generates a maximum of 71 bhp and 96 Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT unit. In terms of pricing, the car will be one of the most affordable 7-seater cars in India. It is likely to start at around Rs 6.5 lakh. The new Renault Triber currently ranges from Rs 6.30 lakh to Rs 9.17 lakh (all, ex-showroom).
