Kia is preparing a significant update for the Seltos, with recent sightings of a test vehicle hinting at substantial changes. The test mule, heavily camouflaged, revealed new headlights and front fascia modifications, suggesting a distinct appearance. The updated Seltos, according to reports, is slated to join the Kia lineup early next year.
Exterior changes are expected to include design cues inspired by the EV9 and Syros models. The test vehicle displays classic SUV styling with an extended wheelbase. Notable additions include a concave grille between the headlights and redesigned fog light housings. The rear section is also anticipated to feature new design elements, potentially including a continuous bar light, a trend seen in many contemporary vehicles.
An interior redesign is also planned, with the dashboard and interior receiving styling cues from other higher-end Kia vehicles.
Kia is expected to retain similar engine options for the facelifted model. These will likely include a 115Hp 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine, a 160Hp 1.5-liter turbo petrol engine, and a 116Hp 1.5-liter diesel engine. In addition, Kia India may introduce a new hybrid powertrain. There’s a possibility that the 1.5-liter NA petrol engine will be electrified. The Seltos will compete with rivals such as the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Grand Vitara, and Tata Curvv.
