Renault India has announced price reductions on its vehicles, offering savings of up to ₹96,395 to customers. This move is a direct result of the recent GST 2.0 reforms implemented by the government. The new prices will take effect from September 22, 2025, coinciding with the beginning of Navratri. Bookings at the adjusted rates have already commenced. According to Renault India’s MD, Venkatram Mamillapalle, passing on the complete GST benefit to customers underscores the company’s commitment. This initiative is expected to make their vehicles more accessible and stimulate demand during the festive season. The Kwid sees a maximum reduction of ₹55,095, while the Triber offers savings up to ₹80,195. The Kiger provides the most significant benefit, with savings reaching ₹96,395. This adjustment makes Renault’s entire lineup more affordable. The GST Council recently reduced the tax slab on small vehicles and two-wheelers from 28 percent to 18 percent. Electric vehicles will continue to be taxed at 5 percent. This decision will lower the prices of small cars and bikes, while SUVs and bikes above 3500cc will have a 40 percent tax. The price cuts will directly benefit customers and increase sales during festivals such as Navratri, Dussehra, and Diwali, which are significant car-buying periods across the country. Renault’s move follows a similar price cut by Tata Motors, indicating that automotive companies are rapidly adapting their strategies to the new GST structure. The Renault Kiger features an 8-inch touchscreen with smartphone connectivity, various drive modes (Eco, Normal, Sport), a 360-degree camera, ventilated front seats, six airbags, a tire pressure monitor, hill start assist, ISOFIX mounts, 3-point seat belts, leatherette seats, a digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, a multi-view camera, a wireless charger, cruise control, automatic LED headlamps with wipers, variable steering weight, a 6-speaker audio system with 3D Arkamys surround sound, and more. The Renault Kiger is available with two engine and gearbox options: a 1.0-liter, 3-cylinder, NA petrol engine producing 72hp and 96Nm and a 1.0-liter, 3-cylinder, turbo petrol engine that generates 100hp and 160Nm. The NA engine comes with either a 5-speed AMT or a 5-speed manual gearbox. The turbo-petrol engine also offers a CVT gearbox along with a 5-speed manual.
