The Suzuki GSX-8R has emerged as a popular choice in the 800cc super sport category globally. It’s favored by riders seeking a step up and looking for a performance-oriented machine, offering track experience with impressive touring capabilities. The bike has undergone powertrain modifications to comply with the latest BS6,P2 OBD2B emission standards mandated by the Indian government, effective April 2025. Priced at Rs 3.25 lakh, it’s available in three colors: Metallic Triton Blue, Metallic Matte Sword Silver, and Metallic Matte Black No. 2. The GSX-8R is powered by a 776cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled DOHC 4V/cyl engine, updated for emissions compliance. This engine configuration, featuring a 270-degree crank, produces 82 BHP at 8500 RPM and 78 Nm of torque at 6,800 RPM. It includes an Easy Start System, Ride By Wire Electronic Throttle, and a bi-directional quick shifter. The bike also features USD telescopic front forks, a rear mono-shock, and a dual disc brake setup with 17-inch cast aluminum wheels fitted with Dunlop tires. The Yamaha YZF-R1, Kawasaki ZX10R, Aprilia RSV4, and Honda CB-1000 Hornet are significant competitors in the faired bike segment, intensifying the competition for the Suzuki GSX-8R.
