Tata Motors has launched attractive offers coinciding with the festive season, presenting significant savings for customers. Following recent reductions in Goods and Services Tax (GST) rates, several car models have become more affordable. Furthermore, Tata has introduced special festive discounts on top of the GST benefits. Customers can potentially save up to ₹2 lakh, depending on the specific model chosen. These offers are valid for a limited time, expiring on September 30, 2025.
SUV buyers stand to gain the most from these promotions. The Nexon, Safari, and Harrier models lead the pack, offering savings of up to ₹2 lakh. This includes both the GST reduction and Tata’s festive offers. The Nexon benefits from a GST change resulting in approximately ₹1.55 lakh in savings, coupled with an additional festive offer of ₹45,000. The Safari and Harrier models also provide substantial benefits, with savings of around ₹1.9 lakh each.
Besides SUVs, hatchback models are also included in the savings. The Altroz sees a total price reduction of approximately ₹1.76 lakh, with over ₹1.1 lakh attributed to GST savings. The Punch, Tiago, and Tigor also offer significant savings. The Tiago provides savings of up to approximately ₹1.2 lakh, while the Tigor offers benefits up to ₹1.11 lakh.
The new GST 2.0, implemented in India on September 22, 2025, has made cars and SUVs more affordable. Small petrol/LPG/CNG cars (up to 1200cc and 4000mm length) and diesel cars (up to 1500cc, 4000mm length) will now fall under the 18% GST bracket. Previously, these vehicles were subject to 28% GST plus cess. Larger SUVs (with engine capacity exceeding 1500cc or length exceeding 4000mm) will now be subject to 40% GST, while they were earlier taxed at approximately 45 to 50 percent, including GST and cess.
