TVS Motor is preparing to launch the NTorq 150 on September 1st, a move designed to expand the brand’s presence in the 150cc scooter segment. Since its 2018 launch, the NTorq has carved a niche in the 125cc segment, attracting customers with its styling and connectivity features. The teaser suggests the NTorq 150 will maintain its familiar design language but will incorporate sharper lines and a more prominent front end. LED lighting, featuring quad-projector headlights and T-shaped DRLs, will enhance its road presence.
Details about the scooter’s engine are not yet available, but it is expected to have a 150cc engine, generating approximately 12 bhp. It will compete with the Yamaha Aerox 155, Aprilia SR 160, and Hero’s upcoming Zoom 160. The TVS scooter might feature larger 14-inch wheels, a rear disc brake, and a smart connected system with a TFT screen, along with various ride modes and connected functions. With the tagline “Don’t feel the same,” TVS is positioning this scooter for thrill-seekers. Deliveries are expected to begin shortly after the official launch. It could also include 14-inch alloy wheels on both sides, a first for a TVS scooter.
The current NTorq 125, launched in 2018, has dominated the sporty 125cc scooter segment in India for seven years, with several updates and special editions like the Marvel-inspired Super Squad variant. The new NTorq 150 aims to build upon that legacy with more power, larger wheels, and bolder styling.
