A power bank belonging to a traveller on IndiGo’s Delhi‑Chennai service began to overheat and burst into flames while the aircraft was cruising at altitude. Flight attendants quickly located the device, used fire‑extinguishers to control the fire, and informed the captain. The crew elected to perform an emergency landing at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport. The landing was completed safely, and all occupants were accounted for and unharmed. IndiGo subsequently organized a replacement service to ensure passengers reached Chennai as originally scheduled.
