Ashish Chauhan hails successful NSE IPO outcome
During the listing ceremony on Thursday, Ashish Kumar Chauhan, Managing Director and CEO of the National Stock Exchange, described the IPO result as a "good outcome" for all stakeholders.
The NSE’s shares closed at 1,817 rupees, outpacing the top of the price band by 32 rupees and delivering a 1.79% uplift. Chauhan said both existing shareholders who sold their stakes and fresh investors who bought at the IPO price benefited from the fair valuation.
He praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for creating a strong economic framework that has allowed institutions like the NSE to flourish. The CEO also reaffirmed the exchange’s democratic ethos, serving more than 13 crore investors, 27 crore accounts, and 9 crore families in real‑time.
Chauhan concluded that the capital market remains a vital expression of collective hopes and anxieties, translating them into price movements within nanoseconds.
