Central Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw addressed industry leaders and investors in Jaipur, stressing that Rajasthan possesses all the ingredients needed to become a major electronics and semiconductor manufacturing center. He detailed how the Centre has fast-tracked approvals for 450 electronics factories in just two years and recently expanded budgetary support for the Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme. Vaishnaw said both the Union and state governments are committed to providing complete support for new investments. Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma added that India’s semiconductor journey has gained global recognition, backed by a massive ₹76,000 crore incentive package. He informed attendees that Rajasthan’s first semiconductor cluster has been launched in Bhiwadi on a 50-acre site with an annual production target of six crore chips. The cluster has already drawn investment commitments exceeding ₹1,200 crore from 20 companies. Sharma underlined the strategic importance of semiconductors across telecom, consumer electronics, defence, and space sectors. He said states that build strong semiconductor capabilities will shape the future. Rajasthan’s new policies provide special incentives for semiconductor, data centre, and defence manufacturing projects. Under the Rajasthan Investment Promotion Scheme 2024, industries receive financial and infrastructure support, including extra capital subsidy and interest relief for nationally approved projects.
