Bloomberg Expands Digital Footprint in India with Dedicated News Portal
On Wednesday, Bloomberg Media unveiled Bloomberg India, a dedicated digital newsroom that consolidates premium business and market coverage in a single location. The service, live from August 26 on Bloomberg.com and the mobile app, blends localized reporting with the extensive resources of Bloomberg’s global team of more than 3,000 journalists.
The launch marks a milestone as Bloomberg celebrates three decades of operations in the country and positions India as its second‑largest audience market worldwide. John Micklethwait, Bloomberg’s editor‑in‑chief, highlighted that the expansion reflects the company’s pledge to provide the depth and precision required to track India’s development narrative.
Bloomberg India’s homepage acts as a one‑stop hub, offering market statistics, interactive analysis tools, multimedia stories and focused journalism on Indian enterprises. The added Market Snapshot module gives users a concise view of domestic equities, currency movements, global benchmarks and notable market fluctuations, while a dedicated ticker streams top‑security updates.
The platform also introduces data‑driven reporting for professionals and retail investors, featuring local wealth‑creation guides, retirement planning advice and investment suggestions for portfolios of up to one crore rupees. Special features include "10 Asian Companies to Watch," Businessweek’s "Best Business Schools" coverage of Indian schools, and bespoke newsletters such as India Edition and Markets Daily India.
