Bharat’s BOOT Toll Model Powers Guwahati‑Tezpur 135‑km Expressway

Under a Build‑Operate‑Transfer toll arrangement, the Guwahati‑Tezpur corridor will be developed by private partners who will finance, construct and manage the road for a concession period. The Rs 8,970.20 crore investment will cover 15 large bridges, 30 small bridges, 19 flyovers and a special under‑pass for wildlife in the Tezpur region.

The highway will also incorporate 46 under‑passes and 19 flyovers, along with an extensive service‑road network of about 210 kilometres, guaranteeing uninterrupted vehicular movement. Once operational, the expressway is expected to cut travel times by half and double average speeds, delivering significant economic benefits to the Northeast.

The corridor will directly link eight industrial parks, two social nodes in Darang and Udalguri districts, and three major tourist attractions: Kamakhya Temple, Kaziranga National Park and Orang National Park.
