Defence and Realty Sectors Lead Losses on Tuesday Trading Session

Defence and realty stocks bore the brunt of the market weakness, with Nifty India Defence down 5.96 percent and Nifty India Realty down 4.04 percent. Other sectors that posted declines included metals (2.54 percent), consumer durables (2.41 percent), manufacturing (2.40 percent), PSE (2.29 percent), PSU banks (2.29 percent) and media (2.17 percent). Only the IT index managed a gain, rising 2.19 percent.
