EU‑India free trade pact highlighted as catalyst for India‑Spain partnership

At the India‑Spain Business Forum, Minister Goyal pointed to the recently ratified EU‑India Free Trade Agreement as a unique catalyst for stronger Indo‑Spanish cooperation. He noted that all 27 EU member states approved the pact without dissent and that Indian business circles have welcomed it enthusiastically. Goyal stated that the agreement opens a broad spectrum of opportunities for both India and the EU, covering trade, investment, technology, education, tourism, space and defence. Leveraging these opportunities, he urged both governments to accelerate joint projects that will benefit the broader global economy, which the EU and India together represent about 30 percent of.
