Expanded SEBI panel includes Ernst & Young, KPMG and others
New Delhi, July 19 – SEBI has officially enlarged its forensic audit panel by bringing in eighteen new audit firms. The list now boasts global heavyweights Ernst & Young LLP and KPMG Assurance & Consulting Services LLP, alongside Indian specialists such as JX Grant Thornton India LLP and Nangia & Co LLP.
The decision comes after a rigorous selection exercise initiated by a public procurement notice issued in November 2025. The chosen firms were added to the April 2025 inventory of approved forensic auditors and will serve for a three‑year period.
In addition to the Big Four and Nangia, the revised register also names JC Kabra & Associates, J. Mandal & Company LLP, J. Singh & Associates, Jain Jagawat Karmadhar & Company, Pipara & Company LLP, R. Kabra & Company LLP, R.S. Patel & Company, Ravi Rajan & Company LLP, S.S. Periwal & Company, Sarath & Associates, SKVM & Company, V. Singhi & Associates, ASA & Associates LLP and CLA Indus Value Consulting.
Members of this panel are called upon to conduct forensic audits when there are red flags of financial misstatement in listed entities. The intent is to fortify market integrity, sharpen corporate governance and shield investors from potential fraud.
Shriniwas Rao, Senior Partner at Nangia & Co LLP, said the appointment reflects the firm’s proven forensic capabilities and its resolve to advance transparency in India’s capital markets. He affirmed the firm’s readiness to assist SEBI in maintaining a fair and efficient securities market.
