ICICI Bank’s gross NPA falls to 1.20% as provisioning drops
During the July‑September window of FY27, ICICI Bank reported a decline in its gross non‑performing assets to 1.20%, an improvement from the 1.38% recorded in the previous quarter.
Net NPA also edged lower, reaching 0.30% against 0.35% in the prior period. The better asset health allowed the bank to cut provisioning for private banking to ₹851 crore, compared with ₹1,260 crore in the June quarter and ₹914 crore a year earlier.
These figures contributed to a 20.1% rise in consolidated net profit, which stood at ₹14,843 crore.
Net interest income grew by 18% to ₹25,339 crore, while net interest margin eased to 4.18%.
Separately, ICICI Bank sought RBI’s consent for Pradeep Kumar Sinha to remain as non‑executive part‑time chairperson until February 2029.
The bank’s shares closed at ₹1,397, up 0.55% on the day, delivering a 4% monthly return but a 3% loss over the last year.
