International Gold Surges Past $4,700 Amid Iran Sanctions, Silver Flat

Global gold prices climbed above the $4,700 per ounce mark following renewed U.S. pressure on Iran and secondary sanctions on its trade partners, reaching the highest level in the last three months. In India, the MCX gold contract for 5 Oct 2026 rose 0.15 % to ₹1,63,476 per 10 g, trading within a narrow corridor of ₹1,62,564‑₹1,63,617 and opening at ₹1,63,015. Silver, however, slipped 0.22 % to ₹2,43,678 per kilogram for the 4 Sep 2026 contract, with a day's range of ₹2,44,420‑₹2,42,299 and an opening price of ₹2,42,299. The COMEX market mirrored the domestic scene, quoting gold at $4,708 per ounce (up 0.24 %) and silver at a relatively steady $68 per ounce.
