Key Companies Await Q1 Results as Sentiment Remains Bullish

The Indian market closed the previous week on a positive note, with the Sensex gaining 582.06 points (0.75%) to settle at 78,151.45 and the Nifty adding 127.40 points (0.53%) to finish at 24,334.30. Momentum was driven primarily by heavyweights in information technology, which surged 4.34% to become the top gainer.

Sectoral breadth was broad. Nifty Consumer Durables rose 3.11%, Media climbed 2.50%, Private Banks advanced 1.51%, Oil & Gas posted a 1.08% gain, and Auto stocks were up 0.89%. Conversely, Real Estate and Metals logged declines of 2.12% and 1.99% respectively, while Defence, FMCG and PSU Bank indices slipped modestly.

Looking ahead, a wave of quarterly earnings is set to hit the exchanges between July 20 and 24. Companies such as Bajaj Healthcare, Indian Overseas Bank, UltraTech Cement, Adani Energy Solutions, Bajaj Auto, JSL Infra, M&M Finance, Adani Green, Adani Power, BPCL, JSL Energy, Infosys and Indigo will unveil their first‑quarter FY27 performance. Strong results could reinforce the current bullish tone, while any disappointment may trigger a corrective pull‑back.

Investors should also keep an eye on the upcoming PMI release and the ongoing US‑Iran tension, both of which have the potential to sway market direction in the near term.
