MCX Gold Futures Trade Within Narrow Band, Close Below ₹1.41 Lakh
The Multi Commodity Exchange reported a constrained trading pattern for gold on Thursday. The August 5 2026 contract opened at ₹1,41,031 per 10 g, after slipping ₹819 from the previous close of ₹1,41,850. At 09:47 IST the price stood at ₹1,41,201, a 0.46 % reduction. The day's high and low were ₹1,41,433 and ₹1,41,000 respectively, underscoring a limited price corridor. Silver mirrored the trend, with its September 4 2026 contract posting a price of ₹2,19,792 per kg, down ₹828 from ₹2,20,620, and later registering ₹2,19,383, a 0.56 % fall. Experts link the softness to the persisting conflict between the United States and Iran and the ongoing strength of the dollar index, which traditionally depresses precious‑metal valuations. On the global stage, gold was priced at $4,040 per ounce, slipping 0.28 %, while silver edged up to $57 per ounce, gaining 0.12 %.
