On Friday, Motilal Oswal Financial Services Ltd (MOFSL) experienced a steep decline of roughly 11 percent, with the share price sinking to Rs 859.20 during midday trading, well under the Rs 900 threshold. This loss marks the fourth consecutive day of falling prices, despite the company reporting robust Q1 earnings for FY 2026‑27.
The trading session began with a slight rise to Rs 944.50, but bearish sentiment quickly took hold, driving the price to a low of Rs 839.90 on the National Stock Exchange. The shares ended the day weaker than the broader market, with an 8.62 percent drop.
Regulatory disclosures show MOFSL earned a consolidated net profit of Rs 1,273.7 crore for the quarter ending June 2026, a reversal from a Rs 219 crore loss in the preceding quarter. Year‑over‑year net profit rose 10 percent, and operating revenue climbed 25 percent to Rs 3,425.7 crore.
The company highlighted that its asset‑management business delivered a record post‑tax profit of Rs 1,513 crore, powered by significant growth in AMC and MO Alternates lines. This segment’s post‑tax profit increased 73 percent to Rs 245 crore, representing 40 percent of total earnings. Total assets under management grew 31 percent to Rs 2.12 lakh crore, while private wealth management revenue rose 42 percent to Rs 157 crore.
