Nandita Sinha Appointed New Head of Instamart as Amitesh Jha Resigns
Instamart, the rapid‑delivery segment of Swiggy, disclosed that its chief executive, Amitesh Kumar Jha, has tendered his resignation on July 28. The move was presented as a step toward exploring other professional avenues, and Jha will step away from the senior management personnel list effective immediately.
The firm announced that Nandita Sinha, previously at the helm of Mintra, will assume the CEO role beginning August 3, 2026. Sinha’s career spans more than 20 years in consumer‑centric businesses. Her leadership tenure includes senior posts at Flipkart, Britannia Industries, and Hindustan Unilever Limited, giving her a broad perspective across fashion, e‑commerce and FMCG sectors.
Swiggy’s filing highlighted Jha’s instrumental role in steering Instamart through a period of substantial growth, pointing to projects such as the "Noice" initiative that fortified the brand’s unique positioning and contributed to margin improvement.
Group CEO Shriharsh Mazumdar praised Sinha’s expertise, describing her as one of India’s most experienced consumer‑internet executives. He said her deep insight into shopper behaviour and operational proficiency would be critical in propelling Instamart into its next phase of development.
The transition occurs amid a broader pattern of senior departures at Swiggy post‑listing, which has seen the exit of the company secretary, compliance officer, independent directors as well as senior Instamart officials like Ankit Jain and Hari Kumar.
