Technical Failure at NATS Forces Air India to Reroute and Cancel Flights

Air India announced that a technical failure within NATS’s flight‑processing system has directly affected its operations in the United Kingdom. The airline was compelled to modify flight plans, operate with delays, or cancel services on several routes.

The statement shared on X emphasized that the incident has hindered the timely arrival of both aircraft and crew at their designated locations, which may also impact other scheduled services. Passengers have been asked to verify their flight status before traveling to the airport.

Tracking information reveals that more than 1,000 flights across the UK were cancelled due to the outage. Major airports such as Heathrow, Edinburgh and Manchester experienced significant operational strain. NATS reported that it has applied a technical fix, restoring normal system performance, but the residual backlog of affected flights will require additional time to resolve.
