How Supplier and Payment Issues Could Affect Rentomojo’s Profitability
In the lead‑up to its 1,255.57 crore rupee public listing, Rentomojo has highlighted the impact of supplier and payment dynamics on its bottom line. The red‑herring prospectus reveals that the firm’s inventory is heavily sourced from external manufacturers; any interruption—whether due to logistical snarls, price hikes in raw materials, or lapses in quality standards—could erode margins and degrade the customer experience.
The prospectus also emphasizes payment risk. Late or missed instalments, coupled with early termination of rental agreements, can dilute the cash flow from assets and increase the cost of debt recovery. Such scenarios are likely to pressure the company’s profitability targets for FY 2025‑26.
Revenue concentration is another focal point. With 89.51 % of expected earnings projected to arise from ten urban centres, any adverse macro‑economic or regulatory shifts in those locations could create an uneven revenue drop.
Expansion plans, which include establishing additional warehouses and a broader logistics footprint in new cities, carry inherent execution risks and may affect capital efficiency. The prospectus further discloses that certain promoters and directors are facing legal and regulatory proceedings that could negatively affect the firm’s reputation and financial stability.
The IPO opens on Wednesday, issuing 150 crore fresh shares and an offer‑for‑sale of 1,105.57 crore, with a price band set at 384–404 rupees per share.
