Special Onion Trains Transport 1,200 Tonnes to Capital

To replenish the buffer, NCCF has already moved roughly 62,000 tonnes of onions to Delhi, including a dedicated 400‑tonne consignment from Nasik, Maharashtra, shipped on the "Kanda Express" special train. FCI is also dispatching close to 55,000 tonnes, with a first consignment of 800 tonnes already en route. Additional freight trains are slated to deliver onions to other major consumption hubs such as Chennai, Ernakulam, Madurai and Guwahati.
