SpiceJet Plans to Operate Around 200 Daily Flights After Fleet Expansion

SpiceJet’s chief business officer, Debojo Maharshi, outlined the airline’s ambition to reach approximately 200 scheduled departures each day once the twenty‑aircraft lease is fully integrated. The new fleet will include a high‑density A321 variant that offers more seats per flight, catering to routes with pronounced demand.

The operational plan involves a step‑wise introduction of the aircraft, beginning in mid‑October and concluding by mid‑November. This timing positions the airline to capture the surge in travel ahead of the winter peak and to retain the same level of flexibility throughout the next summer’s peak season. The strategy is designed to deliver a balanced, sustainable growth trajectory while providing travelers with more options and keeping fare levels competitive.
