Weekly Market Update: 24‑Carat Gold Hits ₹1,51,184 per 10g, Silver Hits ₹2.28 Lakh/kg
In the latest weekly bulletin, India’s gold and silver markets posted significant corrections. 24‑carat gold closed the week at ₹1,54,884 per 10 gram, down ₹4,694 from the previous level. The lowest intra‑week price was recorded on September 2 at ₹1,51,184, while the peak on August 31 was ₹1,55,835. 22‑carat and 18‑carat gold also slipped, ending at ₹1,41,874 and ₹1,16,163 respectively. Silver fell by ₹8,436 to ₹2,35,456 per kilogram, with the week’s high of ₹2,37,199 on August 31 and a low of ₹2,28,360 on September 3. The IBJA provides these rates twice a day, reflecting market movements. On the global stage, gold traded near $4,500 per ounce and silver near $66 per ounce. Analysts link the domestic price drop to rising geopolitical strain between the United States and Iran, which has lifted bond yields, the US dollar, and crude oil, dampening demand for safe‑haven assets.
