Women Beneficiaries of Jan Dhan Scheme Reach 33 Million

Gender inclusion remains a core pillar of the Jan Dhan Yojana. By 19 August 2026, the scheme had registered 32.92 million female beneficiaries, marking a consistent upward trend.

The rise in women’s account holders signals successful outreach to previously underserved segments, fostering economic empowerment and greater participation in the formal financial system.

Female account holders also gain access to government-backed insurance schemes such as Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, along with pension and savings options tailored to their needs.
