The 77th Primetime Emmy Awards, a highlight in the television world, is scheduled to be held at the Peacock Theatre in California. Viewers worldwide are eagerly anticipating the event, with those in India able to watch live on the morning of September 15.
The star-studded evening will be hosted by comedian Nate Bargatze, joined by Sydney Sweeney and Jenna Ortega. Numerous prominent figures, including Stephen Colbert, Tina Fey, Mariska Hargitay, Sofia Vergara, Jesse Williams, Kristen Bell, and Jason Bateman, are also set to attend.
Indian audiences can stream the ceremony live on JioHostar on September 15 at 5:30 am (IST). In the US, the broadcast will be on CBS and Paramount, beginning at 8 pm (ET). The red carpet arrivals and star entrances will commence at 6:30 pm (ET), featuring celebrities like Pedro Pascal, Jean Smart, Kristen Bell, and Selena Gomez.
Nominations for this year’s awards were announced on July 15 by Harvey GuillĂ©n, Brenda Song, and Television Academy Chair Cris Abrego during a live event. Popular shows such as ‘The White Lotus,’ ‘The Penguin,’ and ‘Severance’ are among the nominees.
The 2025 Emmy Awards could potentially witness several historic moments. Should Pedro Pascal win the award for ‘The Last of Us,’ he would become the first Latino actor to win the ‘Outstanding Lead Actor’ in a Drama Series category.
Selena Gomez also has the opportunity to make history. If she wins as a producer for ‘Only Murders in the Building,’ she would be the first Latina woman to achieve this. She has already become the Latina producer with the most nominations.
Kathy Bates, at 77 years old, has set a new record by being nominated in the ‘Best Lead Actress in a Drama Series’ category for ‘Matlock.’ Previously, this record belonged to Angela Lansbury, who received the nomination at 70 in 1996.
Furthermore, if Colman Domingo wins the ‘Best Supporting Actor’ award for ‘The Four Seasons,’ it will mark a significant achievement for the Afro-Latino community. He could become only the second Black actor to win in this category, following Robert Guillaume.
