The highly anticipated Hindi film ‘Sitaare Zameen Par,’ starring Aamir Khan and Genelia Deshmukh, is set to release in theaters on June 20, 2025, with pre-booking now available. The announcement was made by Genelia on social media, eliciting excitement from fans.
A video shared by Zee Music Company on Instagram features Genelia discussing the movie. The caption reads: “Sitaare sirf zameen par nahi, screen par bhi chamkenge! Advance bookings are OPEN! Your date with Sitaare is waiting.”
The film, described as a spiritual extension of ‘Taare Zameen Par,’ promises to be a heartwarming comedy filled with love, laughter, and happiness, as showcased in its trailer.
After delays, ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ has received certification from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Modifications proposed by the CBFC’s Examining Committee were apparently not agreeable to Aamir Khan. The Revising Committee (RC), presided over by Vaman Kendre, re-evaluated the film on June 16.
Reportedly, the Revising Committee made several changes: the term “business woman” was replaced with “business person”; a reference to Michael Jackson was changed to “Lovebirds”; an image of the word “Kamal” was removed and overwritten; a new voiceover disclaimer was added, and an old one was discarded; and a quote by Prime Minister Narendra Modi was included after the opening disclaimer.
The film is produced by Aamir Khan Productions and introduces 10 new faces: Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra, and Simran Mangeshkar.
The film is directed by R. S. Prasanna, known for his previous film ‘Shubh Mangal Saavdhan. It marks one of the largest collaborations in his career.
New talents will star alongside Aamir Khan and Genelia Deshmukh in leading roles. Amitabh Bhattacharya wrote the lyrics, and the music is composed by the trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. Divy Nidhi Sharma penned the screenplay.
‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ is produced by Aamir Khan, Aparna Purohit, B. Shrinivas Rao, and Ravi Bhagchandka.
The movie will be released in theaters on June 20, 2025.
