Abhay Verma Shares Gratitude While Playing Pilot Rajpal Dhaliwal in ‘Operation White Sea’

Actor Abhay Verma, featured as Flying Officer R.S. Dhaliwal – popularly known as Rajpal Singh Dhaliwal or simply “Dhali” – in the web series “Operation White Sea,” opened up about his unexpected journey from a toddler during the Kargil war to a leading role portraying an Indian Air Force hero.

He recounted that the Kargil war concluded when he was barely a year old, leaving him with no direct recollection of the events. However, school lessons about the war always made him wonder about the sacrifices made on the front lines. Verma confessed that he never imagined he would be part of a production that highlights the IAF’s daring operations.

After learning the series’ plot, he felt a deep sense of failure as an ordinary citizen, realizing how much the nation’s soldiers have given up for the country’s safety. “I am humbled and grateful to be part of a great nation like India,” he said, adding that he appreciates even the smallest comforts, such as a glass of water, because they are possible only thanks to the blessings of those who protect the nation.

In the drama, Verma’s character evolves from a carefree, self‑assured young pilot to a steadfast warrior when the war intensifies, embodying the indomitable spirit of the Indian Air Force during the 1999 Kargil conflict. The series is currently streaming on Netflix.
