A particular actor in Aryan Khan’s directorial debut, ‘The Ba***ds of Bollywood,’ is rapidly gaining attention due to his striking resemblance to former Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) officer Sameer Wankhede. The Netflix series, which offers a satirical look at the film industry, has faced significant controversy since its launch. One scene, featuring a police officer, has particularly resonated with audiences who believe the character is a direct parody of Wankhede. This controversy has even led to legal action, with Wankhede filing a defamation suit against Shah Rukh Khan, Red Chillies Entertainment, and Netflix, prompting the Delhi High Court to issue notices. Amidst this ongoing discussion, the actor portraying the NCG officer has become a viral sensation online. Ashish Kumar, the actor in question, has seen a surge in his Instagram following since creating his account in late September. He shared a clip from the series, quoting his character’s line, ‘I am part of war against drugs.’ When fans lauded his performance, Kumar humbly responded, ‘I just did my job.’ While the series creators haven’t explicitly confirmed the character’s inspiration, viewers have readily drawn parallels. The viral scene shows an officer, whose appearance and mannerisms echo Wankhede’s, arriving to conduct a party raid. The character’s use of the phrase ‘Satyamev Jayate,’ previously uttered by Wankhede during controversies, and lines like ‘Drugs have ruined this country’ and ‘I’m a wall against drugs,’ are widely interpreted by netizens as direct jabs at the former NCB officer.
