AR Rahman’s Piano Voice Note Becomes Vedang Raina’s Priceless Memory

Actor Vedang Raina recently appeared on Indian Idol, where he shared an emotional anecdote about collaborating with music icon AR Rahman for his upcoming film. While promoting I Will Come Back, the actor recounted how Rahman sent him a voice note featuring gentle piano notes and an improvised melody. Vedang explained that the message arrived during the early stages of the project, possibly even before the full composition was ready. He called the short recording a work of spontaneous brilliance and said it instantly became one of the most valuable items stored on his phone. Speaking on the show, Vedang recalled that their initial discussions happened through video calls, and meeting Rahman in person for the first time on the Indian Idol stage felt like a full-circle moment. He expressed heartfelt gratitude to the composer for both the creative opportunity and the touching gesture that he continues to cherish. The film, helmed by Imtiaz Ali, features Vedang alongside Sharvari Wagh and Naseeruddin Shah in key roles. It is set to hit theaters on June 12, adding another highly anticipated title to this summer’s lineup.
