Behind the Controversy: How 'Aaja Gufaon Mein Aa' Was Miscast as a Horror Number

The recent dance performance of "Aaja Gufaon Mein Aa" on the popular TV show *India's Best Dancer* sparked a debate after several viewers described the song as a horror number. Raveena Tandon, who was invited as a guest judge, stepped in to correct the misunderstanding.

Tandon explained that the track, taken from the 2001 film *Aks*, was always intended to highlight the strength and beauty of women. She praised the contestants Geetanjali and choreographer Anuradha for delivering a technically sound routine, but she raised an objection to the visual treatment of a young girl who was depicted in an overly eerie costume.

"The choreography by Raju Subramanyam carries an empowering message, not a scary one," Tandon asserted. She urged the production team and the audience to respect the original creative vision rather than imposing a horror theme.
