Mumbai – In a candid conversation about the making of "The Revolutionaries," actor Rohit Saraf opened up about the transformation his character undergoes from a militant revolutionary to a proponent of ahimsa. Playing Sachindra Nath Sanyal, Saraf describes a period when many Indian activists believed that only armed resistance could dislodge the British Empire. The series recreates those desperate moments when weapons had to be fabricated in secret workshops or pilfered from British depots.

Saraf stressed that his own worldview diverges sharply from that of his on‑screen ancestor. "I have no faith in violence as a tool for progress," he said, adding that he has been able to pursue his ambitions without ever resorting to force.
