Mridul’s unreciprocated expectations strained their friendship. The issue began when Mridul saw Natalia openly conversing with Basir Ali and Abhishek Bajaj. Disturbed by this, Mridul spoke to Natalia privately, stating in broken English, “I am happy with you, you are happy with me…” However, when Natalia asked about who told him this, Mridul, instead of answering directly, focused on his feelings.
Mridul expressed, “Understand my emotions. If I like a girl, it doesn’t matter who she talks to, but she shouldn’t talk to others the way she talks to me. There should be some difference between us and the others.” This upset Natalia, especially when Mridul added, “You are my friend, but the other girls in the house are my sisters. You are different from them.” Mridul’s statement made it clear that he expected a special friendship with Natalia, which led to her displeasure. Concluding his statement, Mridul said, “If you don’t want this relationship, it’s okay, but if we continue like this, then keep our friendship separate. Otherwise, I will be sad.” Hearing this, Natalia stopped him, stating that he expected friendship from her, but he didn’t support her when she needed it. When her bed was taken away, Abhishek and Basir spoke up for her, but he said nothing. Natalia’s complaint left Mridul without a response.
