The Indian box office is bracing for a monumental clash on August 14, 2025, as Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR’s ‘War 2’ goes head-to-head with Rajinikanth’s ‘Coolie’. Both films are highly anticipated, promising substantial fan bases and star power. Early advance booking figures suggest a potential record-breaking holiday weekend. ‘War 2’ has started strong, grossing approximately Rs 2.09 crore from 57,609 tickets sold on its first day. The Hindi 2D version leads with Rs 1.73 crore, followed by the Tamil and Telugu versions. Premium formats like IMAX and 4DX have also contributed significantly. ‘Coolie’ has also seen an impressive start with advance bookings, earning a total of Rs 14.12 crore, with the Tamil version dominating sales at Rs 13.80 crore. ‘Coolie’ shows are planned to begin as early as 6 AM in certain regions.
