CM Fadnavis Urges Cyber Safety at Mumbai Event

Mumbai, August 27 – In a bid to strengthen digital resilience, the Maharashtra Cyber Cell organized a comprehensive awareness program on Wednesday. The agenda featured a concise cyber‑awareness film, a simulated digital arrest, and the introduction of a new cyber anthem for the state.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis inaugurated the proceedings, joined by a medley of entertainment industry figures. The guest list included actors Ashish Vidyarthi, Pankaj Tripathi, Sharad Kelkar, Sonali Bendre, Javed Jaffrey, and Mangese Desai, as well as singer Sunidhi Chauhan and comedian Samay Reena.

Each celebrity leveraged their social reach to broadcast the Maharashtra cyber‑crime helpline, 1930, encouraging the public to report incidents promptly. The chief minister highlighted that leveraging celebrity influence can accelerate the diffusion of safety messages across diverse demographics.

During the event, Samay Reena posted a light‑hearted video on Instagram, expressing gratitude to the CM and joking that the 1930 contact is already stored on his phone because of frequent outreach from the cyber cell. The quip elicited chuckles from the assembled dignitaries.

Reena said, “Thank you for the recognition, Sir. My rapport with Maha Cyber is historic. 1930 is indeed a superb number.” He affirmed the cyber cell’s dedication, assuring citizens that the unit can trace and apprehend offenders wherever they might be.

The launch of the cyber anthem concluded the event, aiming to weave cyber‑awareness into the everyday consciousness of Maharashtra’s residents.
