Ajay Devgn’s upcoming romantic comedy, ‘De De Pyaar De 2’, is poised for a strong debut this Friday, with advance bookings already exceeding expectations. The sequel has garnered an impressive ₹1.37 crore in advance ticket sales, signaling significant audience interest. The film commenced its advance booking phase on Tuesday, and by Wednesday morning, it had sold approximately 5,382 tickets for its opening day.
Of the total ₹1.37 crore collected, ₹19.19 lakh was from individual ticket purchases, while a substantial ₹1.17 crore came from block bookings. Key markets like Maharashtra and Delhi are leading the advance sales, with Maharashtra contributing ₹31.51 lakh and Delhi ₹34.12 lakh. The positive reception to the trailer has further fueled anticipation for a successful opening weekend.
The original ‘De De Pyaar De’ was a box office success, grossing over ₹104 crore. The sequel sees the return of Ajay Devgn and Rakul Preet Singh, joined by R. Madhavan, Gautami Kapoor, and Meezaan Jafri in key roles. The film’s narrative, as suggested by the trailer, revolves around Rakul Preet Singh’s character’s relationship with an older man (Ajay Devgn), and her parents’ (R. Madhavan and Gautami Kapoor) humorous and emotional attempts to disrupt the union by introducing a younger suitor, played by Meezaan Jafri. This premise promises a fresh yet familiar blend of humor, romance, and family drama.
