A devastating explosion rocked Delhi near the historic Red Fort on Monday evening, claiming at least eight lives and injuring several others. The powerful blast, originating from a car parked at the Subhash Marg traffic signal, occurred around 7 pm, engulfing six vehicles and three auto-rickshaws in flames and damaging a total of 24 vehicles. Firefighters responded swiftly to control the inferno. Home Minister Amit Shah confirmed that specialized crime and special branch teams reached the scene within minutes. He stated, ‘This evening, around 7 pm, a blast occurred in a Hyundai i20 car at the Subhash Marg traffic signal near the Red Fort in Delhi. The blast injured some pedestrians and damaged some vehicles. Preliminary reports indicate that some people have lost their lives.’ The Bollywood fraternity has united in grief, with prominent actors expressing their sorrow and offering condolences to the affected families. Raveena Tandon described the news as ‘horrible,’ while Sonu Sood urged support for the victims and a commitment to peace. Riddhima Kapoor Sahni offered prayers for the victims and called for swift justice against those responsible. Political leaders also voiced their shock and sadness over the tragic incident.
