Delhi High Court Orders Responses in ‘Kala Hirn’ Dispute

The Delhi High Court has instructed the makers of “Kala Hirn: The Battle for Legacy” to file a written reply within fourteen days to Salman Khan’s petition seeking a stay on the film’s release. Khan contends that the storyline, promotional material and a distinctive bracelet shown in the teaser are directly derived from his life and the 1998 black‑deer case, violating his personality rights.

Producer Amit Jani’s legal representative countered that the film has not yet been presented to the Central Board of Film Certification, making any claim of premature release premature. The bench also clarified that an OTT launch would be subject to the same certification requirements, thereby extending the scope of the injunction.

The hearing follows earlier orders that required the removal of certain teaser elements deemed infringing. The producers previously appealed to the Supreme Court against those directives, but the matter remains before the High Court for a final determination.
