Director Dhinna Raghavan’s New Film Explores Grassroots Power Struggles in South Chennai

A teaser for "Bloody Politics," the political thriller helmed by South cinema director Dhinna Raghavan, was released on Saturday, September 12. The short preview, rolled out as part of actor Gautam Ram Kartik’s birthday celebrations, paints a picture of raw political machinations in a South Chennai neighbourhood. Tamil superstar Vijay Sethupathi amplified the launch by sharing the clip on his X profile and sending birthday greetings to Kartik. The teaser introduces Gautam Ram Kartik as Ilaya, a character who aspires to dominate local politics, surrounded by a colourful ensemble of supporting roles. Notable dialogues include a remark about the decline of omniscient leaders, hinting at a new era where familiar faces take charge. Veteran director P. Vasu appears as a security guard, while Selvaraghavan takes on the part of a merciless political heavyweight. Alongside Anjana Nethrun, the film boasts a robust cast including Robbie, A. Venkatesh, Maran, Indhumathi, Aditya Kathir, Bakiyaam Shankar, and others. The production is led by Ganesh K. Babu, known for the praised film "Dada," under the Draft by GKB banner with Sanjay Muthukumar as co‑producer.
