Leonardo DiCaprio, the acclaimed Oscar-winning actor, is sharing heartfelt recollections of his time working with the late, legendary actress Diane Keaton. The pair starred together in the 1996 film ‘Marvin’s Room,’ and DiCaprio took to social media to pay a touching tribute following the news of her passing.
DiCaprio, 50, posted a photo on his Instagram Stories, capturing a moment from their collaboration nearly three decades ago. He described Keaton as “one of a kind,” highlighting her brilliance, humor, and authentic spirit. “A legend, an icon, and a truly kind human being,” he wrote, adding that he had the privilege of working with her at the age of 18. He concluded his heartfelt message by stating, “She will be deeply missed.”
In ‘Marvin’s Room,’ directed by Jerry Zaks, Keaton portrayed Bessie, the aunt to DiCaprio’s character, Hank, a troubled teenager. The film featured an impressive ensemble cast, including Meryl Streep and Robert De Niro.
Interestingly, Keaton herself had recently praised DiCaprio’s youthful good looks in a lighthearted Instagram post back in November 2021. In a slideshow celebrating “Male beauty,” she included an image she believed to be a young DiCaprio, commenting on his striking appearance and reminiscing about knowing him as a child. However, Reese Witherspoon humorously pointed out in the comments that the photo was actually of her son, Deacon Phillippe. Keaton responded with a surprised emoji, and Witherspoon replied with a laughing emoji, adding a touch of shared amusement to the tribute.
