Drew Barrymore Opens Up About Wearing the Same Outfit Daily on Set
Drew Barrymore has shared a lighthearted memory from the making of '50 First Dates', recalling how wearing the same outfit every day on set eventually became exhausting.
The actress said her character wore a pink T-shirt and white pants throughout the shoot. She had to wear the same clothes for four months straight, a routine that surprised her with how quickly it grew tiresome.
Barrymore noted that the production had a large supply of identical pink T-shirts and white pants. Even with so many copies, she found herself fed up with the look by the end of the shoot.
Her comments came during an appearance on 'The Drew Barrymore Show', where she discussed Halloween and her enthusiasm for getting ready for special occasions. She then looked back at her styling in the 2004 romantic comedy.
The film was directed by Peter Segal and starred Barrymore and Adam Sandler. It follows Henry Roth, a marine biologist who falls for Lucy Whitmore, an art teacher with a memory condition.
Lucy forgets the previous day's events each time she sleeps, including her interactions with Henry. As a result, he has to introduce himself and rebuild their connection again and again.
The movie balances comedy with tender emotion, and Barrymore's recollection gives fans a fresh look at the practical side of making it.
