Emraan Hashmi, riding high on the success of his role in the South superstar Pawan Kalyan’s film ‘They Call Him OG’, has delighted his fans with an exciting announcement. Hashmi has begun shooting for the sequel to his acclaimed film ‘Awarapan’, much to the anticipation of his fans. The announcement of the film was made on his birthday in March 2025.
To facilitate the production of ‘Awarapan 2’, Emraan Hashmi traveled 5000 kilometers from Mumbai to commence filming. The makers shared a photo from the muhurat shot on Instagram, accompanied by the caption, “Tera Mera Rishta Purana Bhai,” referencing a hit song from the original ‘Awarapan’.
‘Awarapan 2’ is being produced by Vishesh Bhatt under the banner of Vishesh Films. The production team, including Hashmi, is currently in Bangkok, 5000 kilometers from Mumbai, actively engaged in shooting. The film is directed by Nitin Kakkar and the story is penned by Bilal Siddiqui. Along with these updates, the release date for the film has also been revealed.
‘Awarapan 2’ is slated to release in theaters on April 3, 2026.
