*Kya Kehna*, released at the turn of the millennium, offered a fresh take on romance and social issues, giving a young actress like Jinta a distinctive platform.

Soon after, *Dil Chahta Hai* introduced a contemporary storytelling style, live sound recording and a departure from traditional dubbing, marking a clear break from the past.

"I was part of that transition," Jinta said. "The movies began to reflect urban sensibilities, realistic dialogues and a focus on character driven plots."

She observed that modern cinema now often embraces themes of national pride, historical events and the armed forces, moving away from the earlier NRI love‑story formula.
