Box Office Momentum Grows as Hanuman Ansh Defies Early Slow Start
Mumbai, September 13 – After a modest opening, *Hanuman Ansh* is now riding a wave of box‑office momentum that shows no sign of waning. The spiritual biopic, which began its run with just ten lakh rupees net, posted a remarkable 85.7% increase on its 37th day, delivering a net of ¨19.50 crore on Saturday alone.
The film’s Saturday tally came from 7,449 screenings nationwide, taking the cumulative net in India to ¨193.13 crore and the gross to ©228.15 crore. Overseas, the picture added another ©5 crore gross on the same day, pushing its total foreign earnings to ©9.50 crore. Combined, the worldwide gross now sits at ©237.65 crore.
The early weeks painted a different picture. Week one earned §1.08 crore, and week two slipped to just £4 lakh, prompting concerns that the movie would soon disappear from theatres. The third week marked a turning point, with collections jumping to ©10.40 crore after audiences began praising the film on social platforms. The fourth and fifth weeks contributed ©61 crore and ©90.25 crore respectively, while the sixth‑week Saturday earnings of ©19.50 crore confirm that audience interest remains high.
The storyline chronicles the life of Lakshman Das, later revered as Neem Karoli Baba, portraying his gradual shift toward spirituality and the massive following he eventually amassed. Directed by Vishal Chaturvedi, the cast includes Shobinn S. as the saint, K. Anand as Dr. Ram Nandan Bhosle, and supporting performances by Purnima Tiwari and Anil Rastogi.
A strong soundtrack has amplified the film’s reach. The soulful “Maine Tere Hi Bharose Hanuman”, sung by blind veteran Sunil Lodhi, alongside the devotional number “Parvati”, have both struck a chord with movie‑goers, reinforcing the film’s appeal at the box office.
